Continuing in the Book of Esther, Haman, second in command of the kingdom, persuaded the king to decree that all Jews should be destroyed, which would have eliminated the Christline. But Esther’s cousin, Mordecai, convinced her to petition the king, risking her life on behalf of her people. Because of her brave and wise action, the Jews were spared from destruction.
