Session 33 describes a promising start for Solomon as he ruled with the wisdom God had blessed him with. He built the Temple and dedicated it with a magnificent festival. The glory of the Lord filled the house. But subsequently, Solomon ignored Scripture, leaning instead on his personal strengths. He married foreign wives who turned his heart from Yahweh, even to the end that he built altars to pagan gods on the mountain overlooking Jerusalem.
