In Session 10, Jacob has 12 sons and is renamed “Israel.” He identifies his son Judah as the one through whom the promised seed will come. Israel’s son Joseph is sold into slavery in Egypt, where he rises to great power and saves his father’s family from famine. Israel and all his descendants move to Egypt, where they eventually become enslaved to the Egyptians.
