Session 16 begins with Moses coming down from Mt. Sinai for the seventh time and guiding the construction of the Tabernacle. He organized an army and assigned the Levites’ duties. He sent men to spy out the Promised Land, and their weak report resulted in decades more of wandering in the desert. The session concludes with Moses’ commissioning of Joshua to assume leadership of Israel, in anticipation of Moses’ death.
