journey through the Old TestamentSession 35 describes the Lord’s telling Solomon He would rip the kingdom from him. After Solomon’s death, Jeroboam established his own kingdom in the 10 northern tribes, referred to in scripture as Israel. He established his own dynasty, calendar, and pagan religion. Jeroboam’s sin becomes a byword in Israel.
